Internet search giants Google has come up with a brilliant idea to stop people sending embarrassing e-mails when they are drunk.

Jon Perlow, a Google Gmail engineer came up with this system to stop people sending emails which they might regret in the morning when they have sobered up.

Named the Google Goggles, you are forced to solve some easy mathematical questions before you are allowed to proceed and create and send your email.

When you are unable to solve these math problems, you will not be able to send any emails.

Currently in testing, The Google Goggles can be activated by Gmail users by going to the 'settings' button at the top of the page and going to the 'Labs' section.

Mr. Perlow wrote in his blog regarding his new creation: "Sometimes I send messages I shouldn't send. Like the time I told that girl I had a crush on her over text message. Or the time I sent that late night email to my ex-girlfriend that we should get back together.

"When you enable Mail Goggles, it will check that you're really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you're in the right state of mind?"

Mr. Perlow believes the most frequent time for these embarrassing emails would be late at night or at weekends, therefore this feature of Gmail is only available during these times.
